SATify, LLC ("we”, “us”, or “our") provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information we may receive from users of our website (the “Site”) and any other services offered by us in connection with our site (any and all of the foregoing, the "Services").
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect different types of personal data depending on how you use our Services.
- Account Information: When you create an account or register for our Services, we collect personal data such as your email address, a hashed version of your password, and your user ID. You may also choose to provide a name or username. This data is primarily collected and managed through our authentication provider, Supabase Auth.
- Profile Information: If you choose to add information to your user profile beyond the required registration details (e.g., a profile picture, bio), we collect that information.
- Subscription and Transaction Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect and process information related to your subscription status, plan type, start and end dates, and payment history. We use a third-party payment processor, Stripe, to handle payment card details. We receive and store information about your transactions (e.g., billing address, amount paid, date of transaction, and a Stripe customer ID), but we do not store your full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Usage Information: We collect information about how you access and use the Services. This includes information about your activity within the application (e.g., math problems attempted, answers provided, scores, progress on specific topics, time taken per question, feature usage, and interactions with AI-driven advice), device information (like hardware model, operating system, browser type), unique identifiers (like IP address, device ID), and log information (like access times, pages viewed, crash reports).
- Communications: If you contact us for support or with inquiries, we collect the content of your communications with us and your contact information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Services: Operating the website, delivering the math training content, managing your account, authenticating users, and processing your progress and performance data.
- To Process Payments and Subscriptions: Managing your free tier/subscriptions, processing recurring payments through Stripe, and handling cancellations.
- To Communicate with You: Sending you service announcements, technical notices, security alerts, support messages, newsletters, educational updates (including content from our Substack and YouTube channels), and promotional materials related to our services, and responding to your inquiries.
- To Improve, Personalize, and Develop the Services: Analyzing usage trends to understand how users interact with our Services, troubleshoot issues, develop new features, and enhance the overall user experience.
- To Develop and Train our Artificial Intelligence Models: We use anonymized and aggregated Usage Information and performance data to train, develop, and improve our artificial intelligence algorithms. This allows us to provide more accurate personalized advice, generate higher-quality practice questions, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the Services for all users.
- To Ensure Security and Prevent Fraud: Monitoring activity to detect and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses, and protecting the security and integrity of the Services and user data.
- For Legal Compliance: Meeting our legal obligations, responding to lawful requests from authorities, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
3. How We Share Your Information
We will not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with other parties except as provided below:
- Service Providers: We share your personal data with third-party companies that provide services on our behalf or help us operate the Services, such as Supabase (for user authentication and database hosting) and Stripe (for payment processing). These service providers are contractually obligated to use your personal data only to perform services for us and in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
- Information Shared with Parents or Advisors: The Services allow a student User to invite their parent or legal guardian to view their account activity and academic progress via a Parent Dashboard. By initiating this invitation, the User directs us to share their Usage Information and performance data with their designated parent or advisor.
- Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement: We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or respond to a court order, subpoena, or warrant. We may also disclose information when we believe it is necessary to protect us from fraudulent or unlawful uses, protect the security or integrity of the Services, or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of us, our users, or others.
- Business Transfers: We may sell, transfer, or otherwise share some or all of our assets, including your Personal Data, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.
- Aggregated or De-identified Information: We may share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you, for various purposes, including for industry analysis, research, and marketing.
4. Cookies and Other Technologies
Like many websites and applications, we use 'cookies' and similar technologies (e.g., local storage) to collect information.
